Heath H. Hegemann has practiced law in Shelby County, Ohio for the past 23 years. He currently serves as the Juvenile Prosecutor handling all delinquency, unruly, and traffic cases involving juveniles. He prosecutes juveniles for school truancy, traffic citations, and more serious violent offenses. The emphasis of these cases is on rehabilitating the juvenile to not only correct their offending behavior so that they can become productive members of society, but to also keep the community safe. Additionally, Heath assists on various civil and collection matters for county agencies such as the Shelby County Treasurer's Office. Heath has previously served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for eight years under prior prosecutors. Heath has also served as an assistant public defender for Shelby County.
Heath is a graduate of Heidelberg College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 1990. He attended the University of Toledo, College of Law and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1993. Heath was admitted to the Ohio Bar in November 1993. He is also admitted to the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Heath is also a partner in the law firm of Sell, Hegemann & Zimmerman, Co., L.P.A. His practice focuses primarily on all family law matters including divorces, dissolutions, legal separation, custody, paternity, child support, contempt, grandparent custody, and guardianship; bankruptcy cases (Chapter 7); landlord/tenant disputes, and general civil litigation.
Heath is active in many community organizations and activities. He serves as Chairman of the Sidney Kiwanis Scholarship Committee, and serves as former President of the Minster Community Foundation Distribution Committee. He is also a member of the St. Augustine Parish Council. Heath and his wife, Julie, reside in Minster, Ohio. In his spare time, Heath enjoys attending sporting events, including for his son, Wesley's, college football career.
